The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (Commencement No. 3 and Saving Provision) Order 2012 (SI 2012/2770) was made on 1 November 2012. The commencement order brings the scrap metal provisions in the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO 2012) into force on 3 December 2012. The Scrap Metal Dealers Bill 2012-13 passed its third reading in the House of Commons on 9 November 2012.
