On 30 June 2006, the text of the two directives which recast: (1) Directive 2000/12/EC, on the business of credit institutions (Directive 2006/48/EC ); and (2) Directive 93/6/EEC, on the capital adequacy of investment firms and credit institutions (Directive 2006/49/EC), were published in the Official Journal (for background see PLC Legal update, Council announces formal adoption of Capital Requirements Directive).
