A vaccine toolkit with resources to help employers and their counsel understand the legal obligations and practical considerations for the workplace regarding COVID-19 vaccination and vaccine policies and protocols.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, and once COVID-19 vaccines became widely available, many employers grappled with understanding the rights, responsibilities, and risks associated with COVID-19 vaccinations and their employees. Although most vaccine mandates have expired, laws regarding vaccine requirements continue to evolve and challenges to those requirements are being litigated in the courts. Employers should understand their rights regarding vaccine mandates and the limits on those rights.
The resources in this Toolkit can help employers:
- Understand the evolution of often conflicting federal, state, and local laws and directives regarding vaccine mandates and prohibitions, including links to those laws.
- Understand the anti-discrimination, wage and hour, and other laws and regulations implicated by employee vaccination policies and procedures.
- Draft employee vaccination policies, which may be used beyond the COVID-19 context.
- Prepare forms for use in conjunction with vaccination policies and exemptions from those policies.
