This note provides an overview of the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (2014/59/EU) (BRRD). The BRRD established a recovery and resolution framework for EU credit institutions and systemically-important investment firms. It contains requirements relating to recovery and resolution plans, early supervisory interventions and the resolution of firms, including bail-in measures.
