The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has established new individual fees that are due under the Madrid Protocol when the US is designated in an international application, in a designation subsequent to an international registration or the renewal of an international registration.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has established new individual fees that are due under the Madrid Protocol when the US is designated in an international application, in a designation subsequent to an international registration or the renewal of an international registration.
On January 17, 2013, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) issued a notice establishing new amounts due under the Madrid Agreement and Protocol whenever the US is designated:
  • In an international application.
  • In a designation subsequent to an international registration.
  • In respect of the renewal of an international registration.
For an application or subsequent designation, the amount due is 301 Swiss francs, for:
  • One class of goods or services.
  • Each additional class.
For a renewal, the amount due is 370 Swiss francs, for:
  • One class of goods or services.
  • Each additional class.
This change will take effect on February 17, 2013.
