Resources to assist lawyers practicing in the area of federal public sector employment law. These resources address the laws applicable to federal public sector employees and applicants and the procedures that protect federal employees' rights under major federal civil service and discrimination laws, including the Civil Service Reform Act (CSRA), the Whistleblower Protection Act (WPA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Rehabilitation Act (Rehab Act), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) and others.
Practical Law is proud to announce that we are now developing content aimed at issues related to federal public sector employment, starting with administrative procedures under the federal civil service and anti-discrimination laws. Our launch into this new area includes resources for plaintiff-side attorneys representing federal government employees and government lawyers representing federal agencies.

- the Veterans Employment Opportunities Act (VEOA);
- the Hatch Act;
- the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA);
- the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA); and
- The interplay of federal employment laws that apply only to federal employees and those that apply to both federal and private sector employees, and the agencies that enforce these laws (see Employment Protections for Federal Employees Flowchart).
- Procedures available to federal employees and applicants to file administrative complaints of discrimination under:
- Title VII;
- the Rehab Act;
- the ADEA; and
- GINA.
- Deadlines in the administrative EEO process and a graphical view of the process from informal complaint to filing a lawsuit, with links to relevant regulatory sections (see Deadlines in the Federal Sector EEO Process Chart and Federal Sector EEO Process Flowchart).
- The rights and procedures available to public employees under the civil service laws, including:
