A recent amendment to the Competition Act, effective from 1 May 2004, gives power to the Antitrust Office of the Slovak Republic to extend the six-month period within which a decision on difficult cases should be adopted to a maximum of 24 months. The Office is also under an obligation to submit to the European Commission a draft of a decision to accept comments at least 30 days before the delivery of the decision.
