HM Treasury announces extension of FSA mortgage and sale and rent back regulation | Practical Law

HM Treasury has confirmed that it intends to transfer the regulation of second charge residential mortgages from the OFT to the proposed Consumer Protection and Markets Authority (CPMA) and to bring certain firms involved in the onward sale of mortgages within FSA regulation. It will also extend the regulatory perimeter of FSA regulation of the sale and rent back market.
