The resources explain and set out the usual steps in a CIETAC arbitration.
PLC Arbitration has published two new resources on China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) arbitration, authored by Sarah Munro of Herbert Smith LLP.
The Practice note, A guide to the CIETAC Arbitration Rules provides practical guidance on:
  • The general procedure in a CIETAC arbitration.
  • Arbitrations conducted by summary procedure.
  • Special provisions applicable to domestic arbitration accepted by CIETAC.
The note also provides an introduction to CIETAC and the CIETAC Arbitration Rules 2005.
The Flowchart, CIETAC arbitration sets out the stages of a CIETAC arbitration, including:
  • Commencing arbitration under the general procedure.
  • Formation of the tribunal.
  • Arbitral procedure.
  • Award and post-award.
