On 9 September 2009, the US Department of State Advisory Committee on Private International Law will have a public meeting to discuss the efforts of the Working Group of the United National Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) to revise the 1976 UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, which are widely used internationally. The Working Group has not made a final decision regarding the scope of the revisions that will be made to the UNCITRAL Rules, but changes may include new provisions on costs, procedure and transparency in investor-state arbitrations.
