This Legal Update reports on significant changes to the local rules and procedures for all US federal district and appellate courts between August 7 and 13, 2013. It also reports on changes to the individual practice rules for judges in select district courts during this time period.
Second Circuit
Eastern District of New York
The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York announced that, beginning August 12, 2013, non-incarcerated pro se litigants in civil cases may opt to obtain court-issued documents through ECF, rather than through US Mail.
Southern District of New York

The US District Court for the District of Arizona has updated its instructions for attorneys seeking to appear pro hac vice.

The US District Court for the Northern District of California announced that, effective August 19, 2013, registered CM/ECF users will be permitted to electronically file new civil cases.
