New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order No. 202.14, further extending the tolling periods of all New York state court procedural deadlines including statutes of limitation through May 7, 2020. The Chief Administrative Judge of the Courts has directed that New York courts not accept any filings except in essential matters until further order.
On March 20, 2020, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order No. 202.8 in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emergency. The order:
Temporarily tolls all New York state court procedural deadlines including statutes of limitation through April 19, 2020.
Directs courts to limit their operations only to essential matters during the pendency of the health crisis.
Requires all non-essential businesses to reduce their in-person workforces by 100% no later than March 22, 2020.
On April 7, 2020, Governor Cuomo issued Executive Order No. 202.14, which extended the tolling periods of all New York state court procedural deadlines through May 7, 2020.
