Gas producer (UK)
An entity that recovers natural gas from its natural condition below ground (otherwise than as part of a gas storage operation) or produces any other gas (including biomethane) suitable for delivering through pipes to final consumers (see section 7(10)(za) of the Gas Act 1986). In the UK, a gas producer will usually transport the gas it finds through pipelines or as liquefied natural gas (LNG) to an onshore terminal, where it will sell the gas to a gas supplier, who will arrange transport with a gas shipper for the gas to be transported through the national transmission system (NTS) belonging to a gas transporter.
