The London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) has announced the selection of its next President, new Vice Presidents, changes to the LCIA Board of Directors and the appointment of new members to the LCIA Court.
On 8 May 2015, the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) announced that Judith Gill QC will become the next President of the LCIA Court. The appointment will take effect in May 2016 when the current President, Professor William W (Rusty) Park, steps down from the role. Ms Gill, a partner at Allen & Overy who is recognised as one of the leading practitioners in the field of international arbitration, will carry out her duties primarily from her new base in Singapore. Ms Gill will continue to sit on the LCIA Board of Directors when she takes up the Presidency.
Practical Law Arbitration consultation board member Paula Hodges QC at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP in London, and EY Park at Kim & Chang in Seoul, have been appointed as Vice Presidents, while Audley Sheppard QC at Clifford Chance LLP in London has joined the LCIA Board of Directors.
The LCIA also revealed the appointment of eight new members to the LCIA Court, which will become effective 1 June 2015.
