A Practice Note examining several of the more commonly used methods available for taking evidence in the US in aid of a non-US proceeding, including providing evidence voluntarily and compelling discovery through diplomatic channels and pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1782, which allows litigants or other interested persons to request a district court to order discovery from a person or entity that is located in the district in which the court sits.
