An update on the extension by the Environment Agency of the deadline for disaggregation of Significant Group Undertakings (SGUs) under the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC).
Terms that appear in capital letters in this update are defined in Practice note, CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme: PLC glossary and abbreviations.
On 15 June 2010, we published an update explaining that the Environment Agency's (EA's) CRC Helpdesk had indicated in a telephone conversation that the Highest Parent Undertaking (HPU) of a Group which intends to disaggregate a Significant Group Undertaking (SGU) under the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) did not need to have completed the entire registration process by 30 June 2010. According to the CRC Helpdesk, it would be sufficient for the HPU to have submitted its registration information by 30 June 2010 (see Legal update, CRC: Environment Agency clarifies the deadline for disaggregation of SGUs).
On 22 June 2010, we published a second update explaining that the EA's CRC Helpdesk had subsequently indicated that any extension of the 30 June 2010 deadline will need to be considered on a case-by-case basis and that the relevant persons should e-mail them if a delay in registration is anticipated so that the EA can consider whether to grant an extension (see Legal update, CRC: Environment Agency provides further clarification on the deadline for disaggregation of SGUs).
The EA have published a notice on their website regarding the disaggregation deadline of 30 June (see EA website: Registry).
The notice says that the EA will extend the initial registration window for those wishing to disaggregate until 31 July 2010.
The notice states that organisations that are having difficulty making their initial registration by the 30 June deadline for disaggregation should send the CRC Helpdesk an e-mail with "CRC Intent to Disaggregate" in the subject line, confirming their intention to register and disaggregate as soon as possible. The address to send these e-mails to is: [email protected].
Organisations that are granted an extension will still be required to complete registration and disaggregation by 30 September 2010.
