This Article discusses the use of Islamic finance in the US to structure (a) retail financing transactions such as residential mortgages, bank deposits and equipment financing and (b) asset acquisitions, including equity investments. This Article also discusses the challenges Islamic finance faces in the US and the steps that US regulators and proponents of Islamic finance can take to promote the growth of Islamic finance in the US.
